This garment is pulled from Gabriella’s 2019 Apparel Design course with Beth Bentley. Instructed to create a line inspired by Art, Gabriella chose the album The Divine Feminine, by the late Mac Miller.
This conceptual album focuses on love as it relates to the female form, or as Miller states, “the feminine energy of the planet”. The tracks explore ideas surrounding the universe, intimacy, the distance between people, and an idealogic love.
Inspired by the world imagined while listening to the blissful melodies of The Divine Feminine, this garment features a smooth, hand-dyed satin, juxtaposed by a custom textile created using fabric scraps held together by thread, reminiscent of the beauty and power of the female form.
